Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

SHM Productions Limited is a boutique professional advisory firm based in London, UK. SHM calculated its baseline Scope 1 and 2 emissions for the first time for the calendar year 2024 in compliance with the Greenhouse Gas ('GHG') Protocol. SHM's reporting period begins on 1 January and ends on 31 December of the same year. Where possible, primary data has been used. Where necessary, SHM has used proxy data based on industry average figures. This approach is appropriate given the nature of SHM's services and operations, and adequate to support SHM's objectives for measuring and reporting. GHG emissions amounts are presented in tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalents (tCO2e). |

Emissions reduction targets
SHM Productions Limited commits to maintain absolute Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions at 0tCO2e through 2030, from a 2024 base year. This target is aligned to the SBTi, the most recent climate science and the 2015 Paris Agreement, with the aim to mitigate global warming to 1.5°C or well below 2°C.
Carbon Reduction Projects
In addition to the Scope 1 and 2 target, SHM has a number of initiatives underway to manage downstream Scope 3 emissions. These include:
- Supplier Engagement: Engaging with current suppliers on decarbonization goals and developing a new supplier policy to emphasise consideration of supplier's sustainability ambitions.
- Engaging internally: Engaging with employees on protocols when holding internal lunches and events, updating our event policy for planning team building events and annual offsite, using public or group transport, and engaging with sustainable venues and seasonal menus.
- Business Travel: Connecting with our travel provider on regular reporting to monitor emissions and improving data quality.
- Capital Goods: Reviewing processes for purchasing office furniture and electrical goods, sourcing products from sustainably conscious sources and recycling responsibly.
